Guestbook

We love hearing from past guests and appreciate the insights they give our future guests. So if you've stayed at Bishops Chapel and can spare a few moments to leave your comments, we'd be so grateful. Thank you.

We hope to welcome you back again soon!

I would urge anyone to book this beautiful chapel, it truly is an experience and great memories made. It was so comfortable and Tracy the hostess left so many treats which added to the experience. The aga was amazing and a great joy. We had a fantastic stay and will definitely return.

Absolutely gorgeous!
Just stayed in this most beautiful chapel which has been beautifully restored and clearly kept with love and pride by the owners. My whole family was overwhelmed by the attention to detail and the sheer beauty of the property . Bad weather did not stop our enjoyment and can only say the owner Tracy's communication and care simply added to a much needed successful and happy family break. Happy times had by all. Thanks a million .

Thank you for releasing such a lovely property as a holiday venue. Bishops served us well for our 2 weeks, and Tracy sought to make our stay as pleasant as possible. From the amazing ‘welcome’ tray which included wine and a cream tea, to always being available via email to answer questions as they came up.
Thank you!

What a fabulous cottage. Not only does it have so much original character but there are so many added 'special touches' to make you smile. The little 'quotes' around the cottage are so uplifting. Plenty of light through the magnificent arched windows and the AGA was wonderful to come back to, especially after getting a good soaking when caught in the rain storm. The little patio with table is well sheltered from the winds, so was able to sit out to eat , even though the weather had not been perfect. Loved the patio and the decking. We didn't get to use the lawn due to the weather, but it would have been lovely. We were close to good food pubs and Bude beach with all it's shops and eateries. We can honestly say that Bishops chapel was warm, quiet, comfortable. peaceful and charming. On arrival, we were welcomed by Tracy who was so helpful and inviting. And there was a very welcome cream tea waiting for for us, some wine and a great little goodie bag for our dog. How lovely is that.

Squeezed in a very successful short break to see family & friends. The chapel was a great find for us for its uniqueness, comfort and location. We prefer properties with character and we weren’t disappointed. Tracy is a great host too!

We've just returned from a stay at Bishops for a month for a break/"workcation" and wish we could have stayed for even longer! From the very first excellent communication with Tracy, we were made to feel valued, our needs were listened to and Tracy really understood what we were looking for in a month away from providing office equipment and comfortable chairs to work from to even letting us know the Wifi speed. Tracy & Tony have clearly put some time and effort into what is needed by guests and the level of comfort and little touches added makes this feel like a home from home rather than "just" a holiday let with only the basics.

Upon arrival, there was some very thoughtful treats left for us and our dogs as well as the first basket of logs, day one essentials, cooking condiments and very detailed, clear instructions and manuals as well as local area info to help us get settled in. (We also found the book with the history of Bishops fascinating!)

The month went so quickly unfortunately but we've had a great time making memories, getting lots of study and work done and the dogs have loved curling up in front of the fire and all of the amazing walks, scenery and beaches we have visited. Not to mention, amazing food (thoroughly recommend booking Sea Fever and Temple in Bude if you love great, creative, local, fresh fish as well as The Break at the BeachHouse (Widemouth) for the best sunsets, cocktails and food)

Thank you so much again for your hospitality, we had such a great time and we would stay again and again!

Wish I could live here!

From start to end Tracy was an excellent host. Quickly responding and very friendly. She has thought of everything down to the last detail to make sure you have the best stay. Bishops is a home from home. It has a lovely feel about it and the welcome gifts for ourselves and Monty our dog was a special touch. Even though the weather was against us we still did lots of walking. So much to do locally and amazing beaches topped off by a huge fire of an evening. Just perfect. Thanks Tracy we will visit again when the weather is hopefully kinder as the outdoor space is truly lovely.

Bishops is an amazing, cosy place to stay with the coast 15-20 minutes away, beautiful hikes all around and close to local shops, pub and takeaways in the local village.

Tracy was such a great host with good communication and left us a nice welcome for our new years stay! Thankyou!

Our family had a very nice time in the Chapel. Well equipped and clean. Very interesting to read about Bishops Chapel's history. Originally from Kenya but now live in London so I would really recommend friends to visit the place and stay at Bishops.

Hosts are very helpful, chapel is delightful and quirky and good fun. Beaches stunning. A wonderful, relaxing time thank you. Only things against: some heavy road noises (farm vehicles?) and disliked not being able to turn the heating up and down ourselves as weather fluctuated but understand some people would take advantage.

Tracy's response: I am so pleased you enjoyed your stay and hope to welcome you back in the future. We are in the country so do get the occasional tractor and car "whoosh". As for the heating - we agree and have now changed our policy so guests have access to control the heating themselves. I apologise for the inconvenience, rookie error on our part (now rectified).

Cornwall is often our choice of summer holiday and this year we were lucky enough to have secured 2 weeks at Bishops. The comms with Tracy were good from the original booking, and when we arrived (during the heatwave) she had left some ice creams in the freezer - off to a great start! Bishops is a lovely converted chapel from the 1840s, it has room for 6 although we were only a 4, and there is a private garden, wonderful views across the fields and private parking. There is little it didn’t have (well, we never found anything!). The property is charming, interesting and full of period features. Tracy is a wonderful host, we had a minor problem that was taken care of immediately, nothing was any trouble for her and we could not have asked for better service. We had a wonderful holiday and it was a shame to leave, but I guess we can always book

Bishops is a lovely period property on two levels with lots of space. It is very well equipped and cosy with an Aga. There is a lovely courtyard garden with bird feeders which attract all sorts of birds. The chapel is in quiet secluded position with views over fields and makes for a relaxing break. Tracy goes out of her way to make everything comfortable.

We had a wonderful stay here, the garden is beautifully kept and the home has everything you need for your stay and extra touches. It was toddler friendly and our boy slept well in the bunk beds (the room stays lovely and cool!). We enjoyed travelling to fun activities in Devon and Cornwall but also just relaxing in the garden or lounge. Tracy, the host, was quick to respond when we had a question and the check in/out process was very smooth.

Wonderful extraordinary place, friendly host and beautiful area
Bishops is a wonderful and extraordinary place and Tracy is such a friendly, responsive and considerate host, it has been a pleasure for us to spend our vacation here. With our three daughters there were plenty of things to do (e.g. swimming and surfing and the nearby beaches, walks, visiting the lovely towns) and besides any activities it was just wonderful to stay at Bishops: we enjoyed the extremely well equipped kitchen, the comfortable living room and the beautiful garden and terrace. If we get the chance to come back to Cornwall we will definitely check Bishops availability for another stay.

Bishops is a delightful property and a perfect base for exploring Cornwall and Devon. It was very comfortable, spotlessly clean and well equipped. Our family of four only stayed for three nights over the Easter holiday and so had an action packed program of adventures on the beach, in the sea and walks along the stunningly beautiful coastal paths of North Cornwall. I wish we had stayed longer and had the luxury of a rest day where we had just stayed at Bishops and enjoyed it's peace and tranquility. Maybe next time.

Tracy was a great host. Her communication was very good. She was quick to respond and the check-in instructions and directions were easy to follow.

All in all, a wonderful find and I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone looking for that special place.

Our stay was lovely, the house was really warm and cosy and the space was flexible. We didn’t use the outside space as it was cold, dark and raining but in good weather the terrace and garden would be amazing.

It has been a memorable stay. Comfortable and homely. Loved the book, Oh! The stay for us was very poignant. On the 8th November it was a year to the day my father passed away. Unfortunately, he caught Covid in hospital. To be here, in this wonderful chapel made the day so special. We lit some candles which seemed so appropriate to the occasion. Enjoyed our stay. Thank you, Tracy
